Boat Safely. Take a State Approved Boating Safety Course.

It's never been more convenient to take a boating course and earn a Pennsylvania Boating Safety Education Certificate.  The Wilkes-Barre Flotilla 15-03 of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer four ABC Basic Boating Courses at three area locations in Luzerne County.  The courses are state-authorized and meet all Coast Guard, PA Fish and Boat Commission and insurance company requirements for a basic boating course.  The fee of $25 covers all materials including a book, CD on boating safety and a completion certificate.  Each of these are

 8-hour or two 4 hour courses .

April 5,  May 20/22,  June 17/19,  July 15/17, 2008 at the Harveys Lake American Legion, Harveys Lake

These courses satisfy Pennsylvania boater education law requiring operators to have a Pennsylvania Boating Safety Education Certificate. Taking a boat safety course will teach you about boater safety and Pennsylvania boating laws, and may also make you eligible for a discount on your personal watercraft (jet ski) or boat insurance!

Pennsylvania law requires these persons to successfully complete an approved boating safety course before operating on Pennsylvania waters:

Take a GPS Course too.
